Last night at the live chat we touched briefly on exercise and what each of us does. Some people dance, some do DVD's or use things like the balance balls. I use the Wii fit step. It took me 3 months to master this without tripping or falling over my own 2 left feet. The mii goes up and down to music and then side to side and you are supposed to follow the steps. I just couldn't get the hang of this. I could go up and down reasonably well but side to side just didn't work. Now at the 6 month mark, I can do this most of the time.
I once bought Richard Simmons "Sweating to the Oldies" because I loved the music and thought I could learn it. I just couldn't. My mind knew how I wanted to do it but my feet just wouldn't co-operate. I can't dance either. When I first met my husband we were constantly stepping on each others toes and we only did a waltz. It took us 2 years to learn that if we don't pick up our feet but just slide them around we don't step on each others toes. I was lucky to find a man who has the same 2 left feet as I do. Because we do it together, we understand that it isn't on purpose and don't get annoyed.
People go on hikes, using trails, we trip in the parking lot. I guess some people are just meant to fumble thru life and we are them. We sure do laugh a lot. I start almost everyday giving my husband a good laugh as he watches me do the Wii. Not just a chuckle but a hearty laugh. That gets me going too and makes things worse. If laughing were counted as exercise, I would beat ya all!
